Отдых

У тишины
две лопнувших струны:
последний луч,
              оброненный закатом.
и ветер,
        переставший быть
крылатым.

Lull

  The silence has
  two broken strings:
  the last sunbeam,
                   dropped in the setting,
  and the wind,
               no longer
  winged.

Осенние заметы

Листья наскучили ветру
и игра с огнем надоела,
гаснут костры на полянах,
еще раньше погасли осины,
воздух издерган дождями,
скоро капли застынут,
видимым станет дыханье,
небо поднимется выше,
звезды опустятся ниже,
ковш семизвездный
будет клониться,
покуда
нашу, покрытую снегом,
землю не зачерпнет
вместе с нами со всеми,
с нашим внешним и внутренним миром,
о котором сказано все,
но не все
и не всеми
услышано.

Signs of Autumn

The wind is bored with the leaves
and tired of playing with flame,
the camp-fires in the glades burn out
like the aspens before them,
the air is worn out by the rains,
soon the drops will freeze,
breathing will be visible,
the sky will rise up higher,
the stars will settle lower,
the seven-star dipper
will drop
until
it scoops up
our snow-covered earth
and all of us with it,
with our outer and inner worlds,
about which all has been said
but not all
has been heard
by all.
Холмы покрыты золотом берез.
Теперь они совсем как купола
церквей,
где молятся березовым богам
во сне зеленом
божие коровки.
The hills, decked with the gold of birches,
have now, it seems, become
the domes of churches,
where, in green dreams,
ladybirds pray
to birch gods.
